MoveUp Project celebrates the European Week of Sport across Europe!
The MoveUp Project, co-funded by the Erasmus+ Sport Programme, proudly joined the celebrations for the 10th anniversary of the European Week of Sport (EWOS) with a series of inspiring and inclusive activities held in Italy, Romania, and Kosovo. These events embodied the project’s mission to promote physical activity, social inclusion, and well-being across generations and communities.
In Italy, APS ASSD Margherita Sport e Vita hosted a vibrant week of sports and educational activities at the Istituto Scuola Secondaria Majorana in Bari — the first school ever to participate in EWOS! Students took part in adapted physical activity workshops, inclusive games, and reflection sessions focused on healthy lifestyles, mental well-being, and the prevention of chronic diseases such as juvenile diabetes and obesity. By inspiring young people to rediscover the joy of movement, the event showcased how sport can foster both health and community spirit.
In Romania, at the Complexul Sportiv Studențesc Tei in Bucharest, the Romanian Football Federation and ASE Corporate Games gathered people aged over 65 for their very first Walking Football session as well as Walking Basketball and Catchball. The activity encouraged active ageing and demonstrated that sport truly has no age limits, bringing smiles, energy, and togetherness on the field.
Meanwhile, in Kosovo, the Football Federation of Kosovo organized a dynamic sports event at the “Xhemajl Mustafa” Primary School in Prishtina. Participants from the local community, including former athletes, joined in three engaging sports — Walking Football, Walking Basketball, and Catchball. The event’s lively and inclusive atmosphere highlighted once again the vital role of sport in building a healthier and more connected society.
Through these activities, the MoveUp Project proudly contributed to the #BeActive campaign, emphasizing that movement, inclusion, and community engagement are for everyone — at every age and in every corner of Europe.
